The first four tracks on this album are upbeat, dreamy SLAD, ending in the lovely "Fields of Magic". Then you get "Opening Night for the Children", sounding like horror synth with some tribal rhythms. This rolls into a couple of very cool outrun tracks, "Defender" and the impeccable rapid-fire "Silver Streak", which has a couple of great solos mixed in with all the drum and synth rolls. And, finally, the superb atmosphere of "Mod Analogue Freaks", an outstanding example of dark synth from SLAD. kmxexii
Really captures the essence of the 1980's....especially Beach Rio! I can picture myself cruising by the palm trees in my 280ZX Turbo with the T-Tops off :D eightyfive85
This guy makes smooth synthwave seem soooo easy. He's so prolific, it's hard to know where to start, but this older release is pay-what-you-want so knock yourself out. I'd head to Coast or Only the Reckless after this, but his newer stuff is great, too. Jean-Paul DuQuette
The Dragon Inn 3’s Yaz cover gives a good idea of what to expect here: bright, bubbly throwback synthpop with irresistible hooks. Bandcamp New & Notable Apr 29, 2023
100% awesome in the tradition of Jan Hammer and Harold Faltermeyer. I suppose I like his Coast album just a little bit better, but this EP is retro-synth paradise. Jean-Paul DuQuette
